Default Counter to Fast Expo pvp

Lately, I've been having trouble during pvp matchups where my opponents go fast expo->cannons... what do I exactly do to fight this of.. I usually do 10/12 gate build but my zealots get owned by cannons... eventualy he gets the econ advantage... Should I expand as well? I've lost about 3 games because of this..

do you rush with your first zealot and keep on him?

if he still gets his expo up, use reavers and do reaver drops and hurt him that way.

Hmm good point... I didn't attack with my 1st zeal i attacked when I got my third. I did het a shuttle and a reaver but I shoud've probably gotten the robo earlier since I was attempting to mass goon to take out the expo.. I'll just work on my timing next time. Thanks anyway...

if you scout it with your probe, use that probe, and also send 2-4 additional probes with your first zealot, to kill cannons that are being built up. if he builds a forge and alot of cannons before he builds that expansion nexus, he might have the defenses built up before you get there, and that is when you just tech straight to reaver drop and drop reaver on his mineral lines. build more goons and an observers afterwards, and use reaver/goon forces to push into his base if you haven't already killed him with the reaver drops.

if you scout a pylon or a forge at his expansion, cancel your 2nd gate and just build an assimilator, and use just that 1 gate for a zealot in the beginning (more if you can reach the cannons before they are built). that way you can tech up and get reavers faster. reaver drops slow down his economic advantage. a goon/reaver army has a big advantage when pushing on an expo like that as long as he doesn't have his own reaver or templar, which he shouldn't have yet.

As long as you actually do something, you shouldn't lose. Run your first zealot past his expansion and attack probes at the main base for as long as you can. While you do this, you can pump straight 2 gate ranged goons and attack when you have 8-10 and you will probably win. You are looking to attack at the point just before the multitude of gateways he will build come online.

Or if you want style points pump 1 gate goon, build a robotics factory and do an elevator with whatever you have when the shuttle pops out. Set your rally point to somewhere outside his cliff and continue dropping goons up the cliff as they arrive.

If he fast expos he's not going to be able to tech as quickly as you can...

Someone suggested reavers, which is a good option...

I suggest going robo/forge and cannon his cliff to shut down his expo and make him defensive.

Good news, I'll be getting my laptop some time this week so I'll be able to review replays and post more often...

As it stands right now, I can only post 2 times a week and I can't view any reps :[

Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies. Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, Towering over your head. Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, And she's gone.

The safest option vs fastexps should be using your early unitadvatage to harras him wile setting up an exp yourself, it should be pretty easy for you to get a decent economical advatage by doing it that way.
Doing reavs can be reasonably risky as you will loose if you don't manage to do ALOT of damage with them, same with any other techbuild.
