Default Boots

I guess this is my signature poem, read it and weep, or read it and smite:

"Boots" 3 May 2006

Brown in the tannery until usage is apparent.
True,
These have seen much, but not spent
The view
Of vistas in the grand firmament.
They are two
Which are the rebel remnants.
They provide no virtue.
They are the irrelevant.
Yet, they take me anew,
Providing a vent.
Because of my ever loving use
Of entrapment
In the confines of lace--leather shoe.
Scars
Are created. They take you only so far.

Here's another two, any remarks accepted:

"Trickle to Itself" April 2007

Three rust colored streams flow from a pool.
Tide
Which filled from rain or wave battery
Pool overwhelming
That now fills as it goes
Around reed-like plants
Beautifying the coast as algae
Grows the icy pool
The stream from that
Is lost from my sight
On my perch
A vista above the second pool.
My breath
I can see the water flow back
And
Trickle to itself on granite to the sea.

"Skipping Stones"

On an endless path in the quarry woods
Skipping stones do lie,
On all the ground those skipping stones
Portray the life gone by,
When thrown for fun so gracefully
They arc splash fly—
They stop abruptly crashing beneath
The level of their sty,
Their state gone awry
From whence they came,
Those skipping stones portray the life gone by.

Edit-- I feel compelled to say something rather than force the ball in to the reader's court. I like to write about a specific scene that I may see. Boots is not an example of this, but the other two are. There are places I go, in nature, away from the civilization--or as far as I can get--to write these. "Skipping Stones" was written in exactly the spot it describes. That's an example of word vomit for the most part, I wasn't thinking when I wrote that, it just came to be. Well, it took probably a couple hours of sitting there in the woods for it to come, now that I think about it, but come it did.

I'd like not to bore by writing about my own poetry like this, so I'll leave it at that. Thoughts? Streams?

I really enjoyed reading the 3 of those. I love your descriptive imagery using simple words that conjur the scene perfectly. My favorite was Skipping Stones mostly because I found I could relate to it the most. Well done.
