Agreed, todays "debates" are in a "structured" (by "structured" they mean asking questions in such a way as to avoid any answer of substance) form and are pretty much worthless. The candidates won't go head to head. Barack Obama would be terrible at this and so would McCain. I think the only person with the balls to speak their mind on the issues would probably be Joe Biden (personally I think he would make a better president than Obama). Obama would beat around the bush too scared to offend neocons and people who aren't gonna vote for him anyways. McCain would just lie his way out of it, saying he supports blah blah blah but in reality probably doesn't. Palin would be pretty much the same as Obama.

No more CNN, FoxNews, or MSNBC "debates," what this country needs is for those two to just sit down and start arguing with each other like on a forum for instance.

McCain campaign proposes VP debate postponement

McCain is proposing to have not only his debates postponed, but now the VP debates be postponed as well. He reportedly doesn't even intend to attend his debates if a resolution to the current US economic situation isn't reached by tomorrow.

Awfully interesting, seeing as how Palin's experience has been under extreme scrutiny since the day she was named McCain's running mate. One would think they'd jump at the opportunity to squelch nay-sayers and prove them wrong by allowing Palin to directly and concisely address the skepticism head-on in a debate and Q&A session. It's not very difficult to understand why people may think she's just not ready. 40 days from election day seems a little last-minute to convince the voters that you're ready to assume the role you've been selected for, only to further delay that opportunity.

"Experience" is a funny word this year. Senator Obama has about the same amount of foreign policy experience as Governor Palin but the only ones who question his experience are Republicans. Likewise with Palin.

Is there a selection process that investigates moderators at all, or do you just have to be a publicly accepted persona?
