Default Starcraft TCG

I'm just wondering if this has ever been a subject of discussion, both here and at Blizzard. A Starcraft TCG would be awesome.

Players start off with a Base and so many Gatherers. They recieve an amount of Minerals and Gas each turn based on how many Gatherers and Bases they command. Resources can be used to play new Buildings or Units.

I'm stilling working on the battle system. Still, it could be cool, right?

I myself do not know of any discussions of a SC TCG, but I'm sure it's been done.

Either way, it's a nice idea. The only problem is that, once you have all the Zerg, Terran, and Protoss building/research/unit/spell cards, where would you go from there? Hero cards could only go so far before you find a limit on your strategy...of course, you could have multiple unit/building/spell cards, which would be awesome. You'd have to draw mineral and/or gas to draw these units out, and you'd also have to be able to stack them together into "attack groups", so that multiple units can attack at once. I'm no expert at TCG's, though, so I'd ask somebody else...

Exactly. Units are played like cards, except which units you can play and how many are limited by the ammount of unit-producing buildings you have and how many Units you can afford. Spells are researched by playing the card, after which units can cast them. I think some sort of counter system would be best. Like for the HT, it gets a counter every turn, and Psionic Storm uses 2 counters.

Search SC:L. XG3 posted some news about that a year or two ago. And in the last couple of month's someone sent me a full ruleset for a SC TCG I wonder if I can find it... They had talked to wizards about it but weren't sure they could get blizz to license it. :P

If there was ever a SC card game it would have to remain simple, like StarCraft itself.

Couple of years ago, some guys at InfoCeptor made a SC: TCG one with graphics and rules. I guess it's lost now though. Can't remember the names..

Hey Drake

Think Yugiohish...

Terran Command Center
****
Machine/Effect
As long as this card is in face up defense position, in your draw phase you can draw 1 warrior type monster card from your deck to your hand instead of conducting your draw phase.
ATK/500 DEF/2000

Terran Marine
****
Warrior/Effect
As long as you have a face up "Terran Academy" on your side of the field, once per turn you may increase this card's attack by 500 points during your battle phase, if you activated this effect, decrease this card's attack during the battle phase of your opponents next turn by 500 points.
ATK/1500 DEF/1200

So you see, the Protoss are pricey but can compensate for this. Zerg loses HP but regain it over time, and Terrans have a wide array of Special Powers that let them keep the edge on the opponent. Just like the game .

Thanks. My personal fave is the Carrier. I think I did a good job with the Interceptor ability with that one.

Quote:
When this card is summoned, pay 2000 Life Points. By discarding 1 card from your hand, Special Summon 1 “Interceptor Token” (1-Star/WIND/Machine/700/700). Increase the ATK of this card by an amount equal to the combined ATK of all “Interceptor Tokens” on your side of the field. Interceptor Tokens are not destroyed as a result of battle and battle damage involving them becomes 0. Interceptor Tokens cannot be offered as Tribute and are destroyed when this card is removed from the field.
i have a little ruling problem with this one:

do you want this effect to allow you to create multiple interceptor tokens? if so change the effect to this:

When this card is summoned, pay 2000 Life Points. as long as this card remains face-up on your side of the field you may discard cards from your hand, for each card you discarded Special Summon 1 “Interceptor Token” (1-Star/WIND/Machine/700/700). Increase the ATK of this card by an amount equal to the combined ATK of all “Interceptor Tokens” on your side of the field. Interceptor Tokens are not destroyed as a result of battle and battle damage involving them becomes 0. Interceptor Tokens cannot be offered as Tribute and are destroyed when this card is removed from the field(i would add this because it's too powerful-"or flipped face down").
