Re: The Car Thread
A jack is a good investment, I need an ultra-low profile one b/c I'm lowered! But if you plan to do work to it, anything from basic bolt ons, to a whole exhaust swap, the jack is a must.
I need new brakes too, I might upgrade to a big brake kit.
Oh I should have some dyno sheets w/i the month

Re: The Car Thread
Fuckin right, I'd love to see those.
I am thinking about buying a jack, but that would have to be when I get back from New Mexico. I guess I would need one your talking about as I want to lower my car more with Ksport or Eibach springs. Drop it almost 2 inches. Will try and get some KYB GR2 struts or Koni's if I have the 800 LOL.
Since I'm not taking my car on the trip, I'm going to leave it in the garage so I can send of my metal battery tray, radiator brakets, strut bar braces, and a few other metal parts to get powdercoated by the same guy that did my valve cover. Here is a picture, I'm putting it on tomorrow morning.

Re: The Car Thread
Hey Stronghold I think I'm going to look for the same exact car. I really really fell in love with my blue Neon. And with a new (used, of course) one I'm gonna take much better care of it too. Either that or a 2007 Lancer. I don't think I want any other car unless it's a Mazda3.

Re: The Car Thread
Thats awesome man, its great to see someone who can respect the neons. What generation would you be going for? 1st or 2nd? 2nd I'm guessing, hell, an SRT-4 would be nice. I wish they didn't stop making them.
I'm sure you will be able to find one, if not the Lancer is a great choice, but still, I'd take a neon over a Lancer, Evo or any other car that would be offered to me.

Re: The Car Thread
Glad you decided to jump back into it, Peng. I think you'll enjoy it a lot more getting a car you like than just any beater.

Oh ok, I feel a bit dumb lol. Though you meant you were going to just get a neon again.
Well still a great choice, I like the 1st gens more though. I don't think the 2000+ ever came with the DOHC, maybe the R/Ts or ACRs but not sure on that. But hey, you might get lucky and find the neon you want but an SRT swap has been done to it. It would be alot more fun to drive. I know a few people on neons.org that have done it.

As far as I know, the only 2nd gen neon to sport a DOHC engine was the SRT-4. And I know for a fact that 2nd gen R/Ts have the standard SOHC. After 2000, R/T basically meant "it has a body kit and R/T stripes." I don't know why they decided to do that. >_>

Re: The Car Thread
They probably still needed special models to give into the buyers that got the R/Ts and ACRs when they had the 1st gens. I think the R/T and ACRs had different gearing ratios on the manual transmissions. Now I don't know why they decided to stop production on the SRT-4, that was an awesome car, it could have sold alot more.

Re: The Car Thread
The Neon was a horrible car when it first came out, it had a very bad reputation. Then it improved greatly in quality in the latter years, but the reputation never recovered. Even the 2000 and 2003 redesigns didn't give it the new life it needed.

Re: The Car Thread
Ya, I don't get it, the neon has great potential, just as almost every other car does. It has just as a big aftermarket as other cars do. I can't find the stock neon DOHC/Stickshift quarter mile times but I know its actually a good time. I know there is a CRX in town with nitrous that has run 14.9 his last time at the track. I know neons that can run 14's with just bolt ons.
