Ripped from the headlines. Pretty interesting, I never really actually thought about it. Though I would say it would have been a pretty controversial move between IW and Activision.

Glad IW proved Activision wrong by selling millions upon millions with COD4.

From the producer's stand point, it makes sense that they would oppose something that opposes market research. WW2 games always sell, maybe not in the greatest number, but they sell none the less. A modern warfare game was a gamble, and was really only successful because of good development.

Good thing he has WoW under his thumb (Blizzard with it's sterling reputation and rabid fan base doesn't get fucked over by his concepts) making enough to cover the losses his ruthlessness causes. Kudos to IW for fighting for their game.
