With our recent upgrade to the latest vBulletin software I decided to go through and ensure all of our various settings are correct. The following is a list of assorted changes, notification amounts, and other informational things. Basically, if something changed recently, and we did it on purpose, it should be here.
"Fixes"
- Cookies should now carry across blizzforums.com to www.blizzforums.com and vice versa.
- Attachment upload lines reset to 5 boxes (also the max uploads per post).
- Users can now delete any attachment they have uploaded that is not in a closed thread.
- Lowered number of emails queued before sending out the batch.
User Settings
- Usernames must consist of alphanumeric characters or spaces.
- Regular Members can have a maximum of 500 PMs.
- Signatures can be a maximum of 30KB (true not rounded). Avatars 25KB.
- All users can see infraction levels for other posters.
- Deletion notices are visible for all.
- Users are logged out after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Forum Settings
- Stick threads will only appear on first page.
- Only current BF Staff will appear on Forum Leaders page.
- Calender options have been changed, expect to see more use of it in future.
- Verification emails for new users has been re-activated.
- Last visit date now appears on Member's list (amongst assorted changes to ML display).
- Forum description appears on top of each page. Boosts search engine keywords, but does it annoy you?
Reputation Settings
+1 point for every 120 days
+1 point for every 500 posts
User must have 25 posts & 5 reputation before rep hit counts
Maximum of 12 reps given per day.
Minimum of 5 people rep'd before you can rep same person.
Infractions
Users who receive 10 infraction points will now be banned for 7 days instead of 5.
Flaming has been increased to count as 3 infraction points per instance. Trivia More of our infractions are for flaming than anything else.
I will continue to this maintenance throughout the week, and this thread will be updated with any further "important" modifications.
There were numerous other minor changes. If you have any questions about issues, or you don't think a feature is working properly for you feel free to post here or in the Help Desk.

How come I can't see pizza's infractions?
I pretty sure you can only see their level, not the individual infractions.
User Notes are sort of like (well they can be) private notes that the staff could add to a disruptive member -- though I'm not sure how RC wants to handle them here on Blizzforums. I'd imagine they'd make an excellent replacement for user file threads -- just tack on a note to the user in question (ie: Chaos) and it would keep things all organized and together in one spot.
I'm unsure as to why normal members can post notes to other users -- doesn't seem like a good idea =P

Because unlike the majority of bitches on here you are not afraid to express your opinion.. and when we choose to really back up our opinions, we get infractions.

True.

This is your rep power basically how much you can give per shot, not just your reputation score.
though I'm not sure how RC wants to handle them here on Blizzforums
Toying with them, and since I was in the usergroups anyway, I turned 'em on ;)

Expired Infractions do not give the poster any additional points, therefore, there is nothing to see. For example, Pizza has no active Infractions.

The threads "Why doesn't communism work" and "An introduction to Austrian Economics" are listed as 'similar threads.' Why is that?
Also, being able to view other users infractions will only serve to increase harassment of those users.

You can see infraction level, not their actual infractions. I fail to see how that would induce harassment.

It's automated. It looks for similar words. I'm not surprised that two threads discussing economically related issues would come up related for that matter. There's probably a lot of the same keywords coming up in them.

Great job, Cloakie.
How do I post user notes? Can I even do so?

Go to a person's profile and you'll see a thing in there that says "Post User Note".

We're going to hide the User Notes feature temporarily while we work out a new use for them.
As for the infractions, vB was a little unclear, so I tested it out. What will happen is that when a specific post is infracted, you can see the yellow (warning) or red (infraction) card on the bottom right of post. You can then click it to see what it was issued for and some basic info. You cannot see aggregate infraction information as I thought. Sorry for the confusion.

uh..i'm pretty sure regular users (non-staff) can't even see the cards that show up to the left of a post.
Woops.
The cards are directly underneath the signature area, I believe. I didn't think they were under the avatar.

They're to the right next by Edit/Quote, and regular users should be able to see them now.
Go here (http://www.blizzforums.com/showthread.php?t=7708) to test it out.
Do they show up for profile-based infractions do?
Err, llike, infractions given via the profile? I'd think not, since they are actually LISTED there O_o

No, they just show up as the little red card, and they can click on it to see the details for that particular infraction. Nothing in the profile.
Pizza: should be fixed.
