Before I post more details, I would like to know how many people would like to participate in a Fantasy-SciFI Open RPG with politics/strategic features taking place in a future post-apocalytic Earth.

If you don't me, I used to be the RPG forum moderator of Infoceptor a couple of years ago and I'm responsible for some of the best and most detailed RPGs there. This project (Which will be started if there are enough people interested) is my first forum-RPG since 2003, so I'm going to put lots of effort into making it succesful and fun.

Fyi, I got it yesterday (Wed), around 5 or so. I've played it for about 11 or so hours, and I hope I can beat it before I've officially owned it for 48 hours. Just so I can say that I plowed through the bitch and kicked some mytho ass.

As I promised, some details.
The RPG is set in a post-apocalyptic world which is set in a paranormal status. Back in our century, a mysterious event has caused a malfunction in a the largest particle accelerator in the world (Diameter of 27km) - LHC which is located in the reasearch installations, CERN, near Geneva, Switzerland. Massive amounts of dark energy was released into the earth and shattered the planet completely. LHC has turned into a consistent black-hole.

It is now 150 years after this occurance which was titled "The Shattering". Earth now consists only of it's huge molten core with thousands of floating islands orbiting it. Some small as houses and some big as continents. The Earth maintained mysteriously its atmosphere and is able to sustain life. 90% of the Earth population was destroyed in "The Shattering", and the survivors now live on the different islands.

Nobody knows for sure how the Earth manages retain in its current state, which breaks any known law of physics. Some scientists believe that black-hole in LHC maintains the current Earth's structure by emitting dark energy. Others believe that "The Shattering" was a punishment from divine forces known as "The Phoenix & The Blue Dragon", which according to stories, had manifested in the world before "The Shattering".

The players will play as members of a certain faction in the new world. While trying to survive and maintain a decent community, they encounter a discovery which will change them forever.

That's the basic background story. The players start on a "Class-B" floating island (12-20KM sized island) called "Little Asia". "Little Asia" was part of Turkey before "The Shattering" and its population consists of survivors from a NATO military airbase which was located there. The base allowed the people on the island to communicate and trade with other nerbay islands, and also granted them access to high-end technologey and research capabilities.

"Little Asia" is a rather small community, with almost 5,000 people. The players are part of the leadership of the little state.

I hope more people will be interested in this so we can begin. If you'd like to join, please post a basic character "sheet" which consists of character name, age and short background.

It's a very interesting premise (somewhat reminds me of that show Lexx). Personally I would need to know about the culture, government, technology etc. of this world otherwise I wouldn't be able to think up a suitable character.

Alright, I'm posting somre more info. Oh, and what is Lexx?

"Little Asia" is one of the many small states in the shattered new world. There are more than known 50 similiar island-states with living population (Ranging from Class-A islands (Max 5-12KMs islands) to Class-C islands (Max 50-100Kms islands). Along with these, there are 2 known large population centers on Class-D islands:

New Jersualem - A 350KMs island which is the remains of Israel and Jordan. It is a major hub for believers in the Apocalypse from the Divine theory. Believers from all over the world came to the island after the Shattering: Jews, Muslims, Christians, Budist - All united under the belief that God or several gods punished the Earth. Among the people of New Jerusalem there is a growing community which believes that these divine entities took the form of a Phoenix or a Blue Dragon before the Shattering. Although New Jerusalem is mostly around belief and peaceful lives, it has a preety decent army with the latest technologey.

UAN - or the United Armed Nations. The UAN is a Confederacy of small island-nations surrounding a big centeral Class-D (270KMs wide) island which is a remainder of Kanssas in the former US. The UAN are actively trying to add more island-states to their growing nation (Even physcially, by propeling islands using "gyros" - info on them several paragraphs later). The UAN army is rather big, but consists mostly of old US weapons and platforms.


Regarding technologey, most of the nations are using pre-shattering tech, specially for the means of transportation (Jets and choppers mostly). Some new airborne vehicles were developed after the Shattering, such as the "UAN A-201" or "Zepp". These are small 1-manned vehicles which look like a small Jet with a great manevrouability. Later on larger models were developed in order to act as transports, engineering and more. Since energy is everywhere (From the heat coming from the exposed core and from exposed minerals underneath each island), there's no limited-fuel problem and people can travel anywhere.

Nevertheless, traveling in the "void" of the shattered earth is risky. Somehow, weather is still maintained on the planet, but it's more disasterous now. Ion storms charged with energy from the "contained zone" (A 1500KMs wide zone surrounding the fixed Black-Hole of LHC) wreck havoc on small islands and might catch you on flight.

One expectional technologey that was developed after the shattering are heavy anti-grav engines. These engines, known by the people also as "Gyros', appeared from nowhere after the Shattering. Nobody knows exactly when and by who they were developed. They are installed beneath the islands, and disallow any a-normal movmenet of the islands, or an unwanted drifting towards the "containment zone".

Ah, and one more thing, upon character creation, I'd like you to specify basiclly what is the belief of the charatcer regarding "The Shattering" and religious belief - Caused by Divine powers or by men mistakes?

Characters that you create should be part of Little-Asia's senate (Which overally consists of 50 men and women). I'll start with creating my own character so you know how to do it right:


FULL NAME - Dr. Gray Davidson.
GENDER - Male.
AGE - 54.
ROLE - Dr. Davidson is Little-Asia's senior engineer and physicst.
BACKGROUND - Dr. Gray Davidson was born on a Class-B island which was part of the "European Cluster", but was forced to abandon it with his family on a young age after scientists from Little Asia (Which was in the outscirts of the European Cluster) warned that the cluster is in danger to drift towards LHC and the containment zone (Thus, also increasing the zone's radius). On arrival to Little Asia, he was interested in the work of the engineers and and physicst who were among the best in the survived world, and soon started to study and take action in various engineering projects (Such as maintance of the great "Gyro" of the island). Upon reaching the age of 40, he was chosen to be part of the local senate, and take the role of the island's senior engineer and physicst.
BELIEF - Gray Davidson does not believe in the existance of divine powers and the so-called "Phoenix & Blue Dragon" in the universe, and explains the Shattering as most scientists do: an anamoaly caused by Dark Energy from LHC. Nevertheless, he does understand that some of the occurances on the new Earth are beyond known physics, and thus stays in touch with other physicsts who are researching these anamolaies all over the world.

Name: Corporal Shane Davis
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Role: Military knowledge and assuming position of military leader (if we have one, or as soon as we get one ;))

Background: Initially from one of the A-class islands, he is used to the city life. But after hearing about a place where the land may be destroyed and without hope of surviving, he became unnearved. He moved to a smaller island in hopes he would be able to help keep it away from this zone, whatever it is. His family did stay behind, and he consistantly worries about them. He has a small, but elite knowledge of military tactics and styles, and hopes to be one of the worlds top military scientists, creating weapons that are, at the moment, only in his dreams.

Beleifes: At around the age of 14, Davis, who was brought up in a catholic family, had a long period of religious questioning. He eventually became atheist after coming to the conclusion that religion is nothing more than a crutch humanity leans on 24\7. He now subscribes to any and almost all scientific explinations to the world and univserse.

I would join myself...but I haven't the will to do so. To be honest, I haven't the will to do much lately. I've been trying to write out TWO stories so far(one fantasy, one sci-fi), but I can't seem to get them out. As for signing up for RP's...well, After Avarice fell to pieces, I just can't find the creative source to delve into someone else's idea for a while. Oh well.
