View Full Version : NFL Off Season Discussion
The thread explanation is self explanatory. Draft, free agency, etc.
So, I guess I'll just talk about the Patriots, since thats what I know best.
We signed Adalius Thomas. Was very glad to hear that, we really needed a defensive playmaker and he fits that role perfectly. He is aggressive, versatile, smart, and a team player. A combination of traits that is too rare.
Now the rumor is the Pats are going off Randy Moss. Those of you who know me know my reaction: Extreme displeasure].
This mean is a team-killer. His ego is bigger than all of New England. I think he can be very dangerous if they fail to make him a team player, and every team he has been on thus far has failed to do that. Can Belichick do with Moss what he did with Dillon, and make a team player out of a world class asshole? I don't know. I'm not sure I want to find out.

Randy Moss would not be a good fit in New England at all because Tom Brady likes to pass the ball around to different people, not just one guy. They did make a good sign in Thomas though. He will fit good in there system. Of course, that's bad news for the rest of the league. They desperately needed someone that isn't past his prime.
As for the Colts, they haven't made any moves yet, other than tender offers to there restricted free agents. Nobody has signed there free agents though. But, from what I have read, it sounds like Dominic Rhodes might sign with the Giants soon. Rob Morris is in negotions with the Colts. I would like him back, as well as Cato June.
I agree about Moss. The recent pick up of Wes Welker from the Dolphins is classic Brady-patriots. Somebody like Randy Moss is completely out there.
I'd be surprised if Cato June is wearing blue and white next season. Too many issues there.

God, I hope Cato comes back next year. The linebackers were already iffy with him, I can't even think of what it would be like without him.
Though I did just hear on the news 5 minutes ago that the Colts made a deal with Rob Morris, so he's back. That's good, I guess. He stepped up in the post-season.

Oh man the Texans are stupid. First they pass up Reggie Bush and Vince Young, and then they sign an aging, injury-prone Ahman Green. They won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Where would the Bears be next year without Lance Briggs? Definitely not back in the Super Bowl, that's for sure.

Lolz I fucking know it. I mean I think Mario Williams will grow to be a solid D-End. Definetly not taking him over Vince Young though.

Corey Dillon isn't good anymore dude. He is burned the fuck out, was slow as death last season. Signing him would be a mistake.
Personally, I can't wait to see how Laurence Maroney develops next season. I think he could have a bigger career than Reggie Bush.
However I think that the Packers are a team with a lot of prospects, and they are going to be closing in with the Bears for NFC North dominance soon. Lot of young, good, players. Their biggest problem right now is the huge question mark at QB. I think they should solve it by putting Aaron Rodgers on the field. Obviously thats a tough call emotionally, but it can also be the thing that puts you over. As a Patriots fan I wasn't happy to see Drew Bledsoe go in 2001, but I was adamant that Tom Brady should start the Super Bowl. When a guy just isn't what he once was anymore, you have to think of whats best for the team. Someday I will probably say it about Brady just like I said it about Bledsoe.
