As you guys watch it can you put what you liked // disliked about the film here please....

I go to see it a week from today but want to read what others are saying...

Please limit spoilers to what was seen in the trailers ...

As far as ranking system use the 4 star system...

1- Should not even bother
2- Wait for DVD
3- If you like orginal go see it
4- Outstanding best movie of the summer

That's quite a narrow list, and it's not even out yet. I'm going to see it on Saturday at the drive-in.

One of my friends went to go catch it at midnight so I should be able to find out whether it's good or not.. I really doubt that it'll be bad though.

I just got back from the midnight showing of the movie. Packed as I expected. A couple of Jack Sparrow look-alikes and people wanting to be pirates.

Honestly it was a good movie, not as charming or as witty as the first one, but still good. I would give it a 3 on that scale. When you go to see it be sure to pay attention. The plot can be very confusing at points. And it seems to drag on a lot at the end (seems to be a theme this summer).

I got back from the midnight showing recently as well. I thought it was great. I would put it at the 3 1/2 on the scale. It was very good. Definatley not as witty or as funny as the first, but there are quite a lot of laughs in it. I would definatley go and see it as soon as you can. One thing I want to know is (SPOILER highlight to reveal)What is gonna happen between Will and Elizabeth after she kissed Jack? That was never really resolved or even brought up after words. Also, fucking Barbosa is back, the 3rd one will kick all forms of ass

It was indeed long, also confusing at times. The fun parts didn't seem as fun as the fun parts of the last movie. Jack Sparrow wasn't as funny.

Oh, and did they ever explain why the evil fish crew was made up of evil fish dudes? How did Davey Jones come to be a tentacle-bearded douche?

If that's a crack at superman I couldn't agree more.

OMG LEX LUT3R IS ON AN ISLAND!!!! THE END?

No, the movie goes on for 30 more minutes! I couldn't agree more.

Uh, the movie review said it was long, not as funny as COTBP, and darker. I'm sure I'll like it.

I also went to the midnight showing. Can't say I saw any fanatics there, but whatever. It was good, certainly not as original and funny as the first, but still worth seeing in the theater.

I followed the plot perfectly, and it didn't seem to be confusing to me. Though, I have to agree it did drag a bit at the end. = \

LOTR started a trend... lawl

Yes. It rivals that of The Empire Strikes Back in the Star Wars trilogy

^nicely put.

I enjoyed it, it was a 'little' long and it bugged me that it oh so blatantly set up a third one, almost as if the point of this movie was for there to be a third but what can you do?

I saw it yesterday and what can I say, I absoultley loved it. I think that it hit all the right notes and trust me I was looking for flaws but could not find any... I really think that this movie is going to be a springboard for number three. POC : AWE.

On my ranking system I give this move a ****/****.

Get up off your butt and go watch this movie.. :) :)

Way to cover up the spoilers. It's definatley good. In the third, lots of stuff will be covered and bring a tie to this trilogy. Also, Keira Knightley is fucking hot as shit.

If only I could rep you right now...

Saw the movie at the midnight showing also, and I loved it. I didn't think it dragged on at all, though. I was interested throughout.

Can't wait for the third.

i thought it was a good movie
i just didnt like the ending bit from jack being locked to the ship onwards

i guess what i kinda wanted in the pirates of the carbean triligy was to have each movie be its own seperate story
as if you wouldnt need to see the ones prevoiusly made before it

but none the less it was a good movie

I saw it today and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Although, I've heard that it was long, had a somewhat confusing plot, and had a cliffhanger ending, so that might have damaged my judgement. But hey, I loved it, so what do I care if it did?

First off, I saw again recently. A lot easier to understand and didn't seem like ti dragged on at all. It basically seemed like the first one is terms of moving along in the plot line. I highly reccomend anyone who saw it already to go see it again and then come back and post what you think afterwords.

That sounds like a good idea, Mike. I saw it a few days ago, and I thought it was amazing. I'd have to say it was the best movie experience I've had since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last November. It was a lot of fun, but I didn't expect it to end when it did. :/

I'm already excited for the next one. Of course, I could always watch the first one (which I haven't seen in over two years) and/or see the second one again.

It was great, one problem with it though... The ending. The ending was not as good as the first. When i walked out of seeing the first one i was excited to see if they were gonna make another, and go see it. With this one i felt like the ending just kinda shafted me and said "Bitch, im gonna steal $8 more of your monies...

Agreed. But Also, I don't think the ending to the first and the second can be compared.

I mean the first had one of the best endings ever in the history or movies. Jack finally became free, and singing the pirates song and ending with the closing of the compass. It is just great. If I had the chance to make it, I couldnt have ended it better.

With the second, it was another one of the best cliffhanger endings ever. Rivaling the Empire Strikes Back. It doesnt get much better than that. Luke finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen in carbonite and taken by Boba Fett, leaving you to think, OH MY FUCKING GOD WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?! In Pirates, Jack dies and they find he can come back, theres a conflict between Will and Elizabeth who knows whats gonna happen there, and they're going to sail under Barbossa's colors. Why did they ahve to end it there? Why couldnt they tell the whole story. You leave the theater wanting to know what happens in the third. Great ending on both of these movies. If you say otherwise, you are retarded.

I saw it tonight, thought it was good, but i wish there was more background on Davy Jones and his crew. I also thought the plot was somewha difficult to follow at times, but overall i enjoyed it a lot. It was, as brim said, a great experience.

Personally, I found it to be rather... subpar, especially from the popularity it got. Definatly not as good as the first one, but that's what you'd expect from the middle movie in a trilogy.

I felt there is a rather large gap between the 2 movies, so much that you don't even have to see the first one to get the second one (spoiler: except for the Barbossa thing of course which I got the same feeling as the Joker thing at the end of Batman Begins.).

The first one was made believable (mildly), cursed pirates and aztec gold is alright. The second one blew the whole fictional thing way out of proportion, not to mention overkilling with CG. At least the first one showed the villains live-actioned half the time. However I do love the way the incorporate such details into the CGing. The little mullusks folding up and the anenomes shooting back in ( with each step of Davy when Will declared his challenge, not to mention the turning undead thing at every spot of moonlight in the first movie).

I loved the Kraken though, yea mythological creatures ftw.

I wodner if anyone else besides me has made the connection ebtween the first 2 movies.you might actually kick yourself if you havent thought of it. When jack was marooned on the island and then barbosa resumed as captain they were going to get the treasure. Now remember they knew that the treasure was "cursed" as Barbossa explained to Elizabeth in the first one. In the second (Jack had a debt to settle with Davy Jones, 100 years of servitude, with Jack having taken the treasure, 100 years would seem like an instant if he were immortal. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Saw it again this weekend and I still give it ****/4 stars.

The only thing that I did not like was that I fell asleep through the second part. Kinda boring there in the middle but still very good.

I dont think anyone does. But I'm sure it will all be explained in the third one. If not that would be a major, major plothole considering he died in the first one.
