I like the idea of making to name add up to SCL with the first letters of each word or something like that. Perhaps the name should match the logo a little. I mean with the picture of the logo. Not the words.

It is latin. In loose tranlation it means "Masters of the Legacy Quest"
Or just Imperium
For Masters and relates to "the Emperor" which ties into Boxer. For those of you who may be supersticious maybe it will give luck ;)
Or just Legatum
For "Legacy Quest" which ties into our Legacy (Starcraft) and the quest to always bestow it's treasures to the current and new generations.
The phrase Imperium Legatum emcompases almost everything that embodies the sandlot tournament and our team.
Masters, which will be the team members we pick, who are masters of starcraft
Talent, which will be used in many facets for this tournament, for such things as art, literature as well as in the game itself
Quest, emobdies the tournament itself
Legacy, our SCLegacy
And the fact that it is a latin phrase, which is a dead language, but is in continued use by scienctist bequethes knowledge. Which our team managers will need to be successful in this quest.
You may also connect it in this way. Latin is a dead language, but is such a great language it continues to be used. Starcraft is an eight year old game, and should be dead by now to the masses; however, it is also such a great game, that players continue to play it.

arv = legacy in Norwegian, systeme = system in Frech. Chopped off the first s and replaced the last e with an a. A name doesn’t have to be normal, but we could have the long form of this being the “Legacy System.”
The trend I'm thinking of is we create our own word and give it is own meaning. Creative, ideally stylish. Also, in terms of working it into a signature, it's a good format. 3 letters, y, 1 letter t, 3 letters.

Why not just SCL?
There are bonus points for creativity. We may end up doing that as it fits perfectly into many logo ideas. Time will tell.

You can almost make anything fit into banners and logos. Maybe we should have a news post (to explain the story behind the names) with a poll at the end for the top suggestions?
Personally, I favour "SCL" as it is by far the most marketable. Some random new name will stick as much as some random guild. It may be known to your server, but other then that no one gives a shit.
The other bonus to SCL is we can continue using the logo from this. It'd be a natural transition for perhaps picking up new viewers. It's key.

Winning this singular event (The Sandlot), or at least being competitive in it, is key to picking up newer viewers. Creativity in the name will give us more minerals to buy better players. SC:L must make a good representation at the sandlot tournament.
I agree, but currently the "SCL" option is looking good due to the low amounts of feedback. It's more of a blind market. Also, in terms of logo design (first pick), of the few ideas communicated it's been focused around that.
