Explanation:talker:

This is a multi-tiered campaign.

Scenarios take place in multiple worlds and multiple universes, all linked together by a massive inter-universal, inter-galactic, and interplanetary gate network. (Think Star Rigger with a mix of Stargate) with about as wide a scope. You can create your 'fleet', or 'character' or 'ship' or even technomagic.

If there is something that needs to be resolved, such as a fight between who does what and "such and such does such and such to so and so because of this", I will roll two D20's to verify who is the victor. That way it's not "you are so cheating".

Bear in mind, that although I will also be playing my own character, fleet, ship, tradesmen, etc. I do so in the mindset of that character. My goals will be the same as your characters goals, so there will not be any conflict, and my game mastering will not interfere or create the visage of 'me cheating'. This scenario is one that I came up with a good while back, and is one that I've written the beginnings to a book on. The story of course, tickles me pink. :)

As the GM, I will try my best to describe your surroundings. I would kind of like for this to go sort of similar to how the Great Brain has done his in Chit Chat, but much more detailed and interwoven. Your characters may need (IE Will) to collude with one another in order to get what you are after. Although you may also choose to kill each other, as well. Means my character won't have to pay you for services rendered.

The Multi-Verse

Through a massive network of inter-universal, intergalactic, and interplanetary gateways, the entire multiverse (supposedly) is connected through a central hub commonly referred to as "The Hole". There are literally millions of worlds out there. It just takes a while to travel to all of those millions of worlds. The areas of play are within the zones referred to as the "Rasyelli Confederation (humans)", "LeuthCorp Protectorate (humans)", "Halcyonian Empire (humans)", and the "Delirtg Alliance" in Universe "AA". [For the time being].

These territories span from "The Hole" in 9 different gates, and span across 26 different galaxies (also linked through those gates). There are several alien species that are part of these territories, and the "Delirtg Alliance" is a hodgepodge of many less powerful space bearing races.

At this point in time, though this mult-verse is vast (and supposedly neverending), it is limited to what I have stated for the time being.

Although I will be playing my character, he is 'too powerful' to play in any real fairness so he is going to more or less be an NPC.
My ID "Leu GM" will be playing the 'bad guy'

The Story

Several thousand years ago, LeuthCorp and Halcyonian scientists came up with a process that could make something all but invulnerable. Heavily complicated (not explaining it), this process would produce a Cruiser class vessel (2.2km length, max beam x: 600m, max beam y: 220m) to run rampaging into an enemy fleet of mythical proportions, and come out with maybe a slight limp.

During a joint campaign to push hostile species out of the sphere of influence for Halcyon, the Confederacy, LeuthCorp, and the Delirtg Alliance, one of these ships, a "Seraph Class Assault Cruiser" showed definite proof that the idea was a working one. This ship, the LeuthCorp Navy Aristaeus, was thought to have been lost with all hands.

Three thousand years later, with the wars long over and victorious, only 28 of the Seraph Class vessels remain, officially. One legitimately destroyed, hull recovered and melted back down due to the internal systems being too damaged to make a rebuild worthwhile, and one... never recovered.

Until now.....

My Character--scroll further down for your character's briefings.
Leuthesius

Official Title: Emperor Altair Aysu Zayntahirziya Lethasaias, of the Halcyonian Empire
Official Title 2: President and CEO of LeuthCorp Technologies, Navy and Colonial Divisions
Age: Quit counting, due to time dilation effect and multitude of timelines, actual age is unobtainable. Effectively immortal, undergoing massive revitalization treatments once every five Halcyonian decades. (100 Earth Years roughly)
Place of Birth: Universe Designate "AG", Milky Way, Sol, Earth, United States of America, Wichita KS, 1983 A.D.
Resources: Effectively Unlimited
Integrity: Noble
Demeanor: Noble

Leuthesius, when away from the Imperial grounds or his private residence on Halcyon Prime, parades around in a small fleet of vessels deemed "Crowd Control Class" ships. These are small, roughly the size of modern day aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, but Elite packs of these vessels are effectively the 'ants' of the spaceship world, and can handle things up to 50 times their size. They are sentient and telepathic vessels which makes their reaction time simply amazing. They are the only 'craft' in existence that can effectively dodge lightspeed weapons on a whim.

Ingame, you might expect visits from him in such a fashion.
He is a telepath, a psionic, a 'mage' of sorts (limited), and should be considered incredibly deadly in any circumstance. You don't survive to be over half a million years old for being a slouch or slow on the draw. :twitch:

The hunt is on...

"Ladies, Gentlemen, and other aliens of undeterminable sex, I welcome you to my home." The gentleman in the foyeur sat down on a nice comfortable looking chair and motioned for his hodge podge of guests to also sit down. Those who didn't have proper body structure to sit, servants brought in chairs that seemed to be made exactly for them.

"Now that you are comfortable, I would like to get directly down to business." He smiled gently and chewed into a small red fruit with a thoughtful look. "No doubt, you know who I am. I am probably the most powerful person within a couple billion parsecs. Not only do I control inter-universal trade that doesn't require the use of the gate system via monopoly, but I am also the Emperor to the entire Halcyonian Galaxy in which we are now sitting." He paused a brief moment. "I am, of course, Emperor Leuthesius, and on the shortside I am also the CEO of LeuthCorp Technologies.

"Now as for why I would call in a bunch of low down, sniveling, dirty, mongoloid, dungheapish bounty hunters, mercenaries, and people that would probably take joy out of chewing a newborn babe's arm off?" The look on his face went slightly dour as he chewed another piece off of the fruit. "No offense to those of you who are actually from 'decent' walks of life. I know a few of you have served in my own security services before and I do appreciate it.

"I lost something valueble. It wasn't stolen, ironically. It was simply lost. Three thousand years ago it was lost, and I have acquired from one of my communications buoys, a very poor quality picture." He clicked a button and the picture was showing on the holovid projector. It was a white blur, but with a clear LeuthCorp number on the bottom of the hull. "As you know, anywhere a LeuthCorp ship shows up anywhere within my..." He coughed dryly... "reach.... as I guess I could say it, is welcomed and there are no customs rules against my vessels, seeing as how my fleets are typically the ones enforcing the rules.

"This means that one of my ships is out there getting resupplied and serviced, and I'm not running it. This ship, people, is one that was lost in the battle of Klouj VII, three and one half thousand yearsa go. I had everything thoroughly analyzed, and it is definitely my missing ship. 'Aristaeus'." He chewed another bite.

"A reward for bringing this ship back to me in tact, is an uninhabited large terraformed moon or small planet of your choosing, all mineral rights, a governorship, 600billion Licreds startup capital, a planetary defense fleet, and if that is not enough we may negotiate. If you would all look in the boxes infront of you, there are 250,000 Licreds in pre-payment. If you want more, bring me back my ship.

"For intelligence, we have very little. She was last spotted in the Thet sector, 22 parsecs from The Hole. We believe that some pirates or privateers somehow managed to run into the hulk, get it working and are now parading around as LeuthCorp. This is a PR issue as well folks. We can't have someone under our flag robbing people blind. It is not good for business.

"Any questions you have, you may direct towards your personal liason to me. You all have the proper contact information for them, and they will assist you with any information we obtain. We aren't recruiting you because we like you. Some of you have splotchy records in regards to us. We are recruiting you because many of you share the same walk of life as these probable pirates or privateers...

"I am simply hoping that 600billion Licred, your own planet, et cetera et cetera is good enough for you to leave those ways behind you." He finally stopped talking and chewed another bite out of the fruit. "That is all people."

Need a bit of history too, if you could. Make shit up as you feel. Bear in mind that you are effectively a mercenary and should not have TOO illustrious of a background.

This is an anything goes to a point. You need to start off with 'lesser' characters. Below the radar types, if you will. Remember, you're hunting a ship that's likely been taken by people who watch high profile people who might want to be out to get them.

I am low - profile, my people were wiped out because noone cares and well even hates hybrids. Anyways, my people stay off the radar not to get killed.

^__^;

Goodie! This one's total seriousness with a lot less of the "Leu vs all my fleet bitchslaps your fleet into submission no save". Still possible, but not likley unless you do something dumb.

Besides, Halcyon is the power now, LeuthCorp is just a government front company >.>
