TV Tuner Card Help

i got my new DELL XPS 400 at the beginning of this year. i customized it and put what i wanted on it as far as hardware and software.

me and a friend were looking around in a computer store a few days ago and found this tv tuner card for about $150. i remembered seeing this option available for around the same price when i was building my DELL on their website but i thought i would never use it.

i asked the guy that worked there about it and he said i could even hook up anything with RCA cables to it and play them through my monitor. i thought this sounded pretty neat so i went home and got on newegg because i was sure i could find a tv tuner for alot cheaper on there.

i have looked through a lot ranging from $25 to $125 and the only difference seems to be help support and picture quality.

i have digital cable and the input on the tv tuner is analog. now after explaining all of that my question is...

will my coaxial cable work if it is sending a digital signal into the analog input on the tv tuner? i don't know a damn thing when it comes to this kind of stuff so if i'm not explaining very clearly just let me know and ill try to clear it up.

wait, does your coaxial go to a box, or just directly in to the tv? If it goes through a box to the tv, then you'll need to use the box in to the tv input card. if it goes straight to the tv, then it will work.

My TV input card has a coaxial input on it.

i just bought the card i saw at the computer store for $85 on newegg.

saved 60 bucks and got my questions all answered by the guys at the computer store. they said that my DISH cable should work.

and my coaxial goes from the wall to the box to the tv as of right now so i guess i'll just take the coaxial from the tv and pop it into the tv tuner
