Ok,
I've been using 7 for a long time now and there was never any problem. This stupid irritating problem has now started occuring. it goes like this...
I create a text layer and after typing i feel like moving the text around! BUT I CAN'T.
everytime i select the text layer and hold ctrl down to move it, another layer gets selected!! and i keep on trying and keep on trying and sometimes it works! but otherwise it never moves, another random layer gets selected and i end up moving that.
any suggestions?

Do you accept the change before you try to move it? There's this ø and V (cancel & ok) up to the right somewhere.
Are you sure you have the move tool selected?
Generally you type the text you want, hit enter, and then move it.
I don't think its possible to move text that is brand new is it? I've always done it that way at any rate.

Yah, your right Neo. You always have to commit the changes to the text layer before it can be moved.
Also, might I recommend upgrading to CS2. It is well worth it. :D

also, ctrl clicking on a lyaer DOES select it, that's its function
Eww. I use 7 currently because CS take slike 5 minutes to finish loading... it didn't always, but I'm to lazy to find the problem.

You still can move it around. From my experience, if you move the cursor close to your selected text area, it turns into the move cursor and you can move. Of course though... Im using CS2

Once you try moving with the cursor, though, it commits the character layer. Just trying to move with the arrow keys won't end the job. I wish I had CS2 in front of me...

i do have the move tool selected and as i wrote initially, i keep on trying it and in the end randomly it just moves.

Dude, check the top toolbar, you probably have "Auto Select Layer" checked.
How the fuck did this go over everyone's heads?
Who the fuck turns on auto select layers? If anyone turns on auto select layers I will hunt them down and burn them at the stake.
