It's come to my attention that a group of the guys who worked on Diablo, Fate, and the as-of-yet unreleased Mythos released a new game called Torchlight. I've not had a chance to play the game myself, but the videos, screenshots, and the rave reviews from all over the place points to an awesome game. What I do know is that this game is a single player rpg computer game, with some epic music.

Also of interest to many Blizzard fans is the IgroMir 2009 3-day gaming conferance where Blizzard showed up to let gamers play SC2, and leak some more info about the game itself. Of particular interest is that for Russia it seems the SC2 beta will not be out until 2010, what no one knows for sure though is if that's for everyone, or just Russia in particular.

Much of the information presented was simply rehashed stuff from Blizzcon. For more check out Starcraft Legacy.

This is an open call to the community. As you can see the past month or so things have been quiet, especially on the front page. This was not intended as the goal was to get a group together to help post the latest news from around the Blizzard and Gaming -verses.

We put the open call to the Elders and current Forum Staff but no one took the bait (except one). So we're now asking the community-at-large. If you're interested in bringing Blizzforums news, then check out the positions we need filled.

World of Warcraft

Are you a obsessed with WoW? Do you stay on top of the latest developments around the World? Then we need you! At first all that you'll be required to do is gather the latest info about WoW and post about it weekly. Where there any new developments on the PTR? Any more leaks about Cataclysm? That sort of thing.

While not entirely necessary, we would also like to see occasional posts on Warcraft III (DotA, new patches, etc...) -- it's not completely dead yet!

Starcraft II

Do you follow the latest SC2 news? Do you eagerly await the newest replay vids, leaks, and discussions? While not entirely necessary having a Beta key to SC2 would be preferable, however the goal of all of these positions is to simply bring news from around the Blizzard universe to Blizzforums. Like the WoW position, this one would require you to post weekly -- mostly just a summary of events from the past week, rumours about the beta, the release, unit changes, new videos, etc...

Covering BW progaming would also be nice, but not necessary for this position (ideally we would like a second person to cover Brood War).

Diablo (III)

Can't wait to play this game? Wondering if it will be different WoW? Do you wait in anticipation of the latest video, creature, or leak to be released? This position, like the previous ones, require you to post weekly of stuff that's happened in the previous week. Blizzard has been really quiet about D3 lately, so when there's not much to report on for D3, it's important to post something about Diablo II, either a discussion about a character build, the game itself, etc...

Gaming

Because we've grown to be more than just a community of Blizzard gamers, it's important for use to embrace gaming-in-general as well. What's the latest game to be released everyone's playing? Whats the most anticipated one of the season? Did Nintendo just release the WiiWii? Are 360s still suffering from RRoD? On BF, who's toping the XBL leaderboard? Upcoming PC Games, ones with open betas, etc...

This position is different because it's a more general area of topic. At first we only need someone who will post weekly about the most important -- or latest rumours -- in the gaming community. Sony screwing up again, Nintendo releasing another gimmicky whatever, Microsoft pushing another Halo game; etc... The idea is to post interesting gaming news -- keep us informed about what's going on out there. Eventually we may split this position up among a group of people -- one focused on Sony, one on Xbox, one on PC Gaming, the last on Nintendo; but for now just someone who can post weekly about gaming would suffice.

Funny?

It's also our intention to bring you the funniest comics, videos, pictures, or whatever from the past week that relates to gaming. What did Yahtzee review this week? Was Penny Arcade hilarious? Any new WoW comics? Was there a funny flash video on Newgrounds on gaming or something?

This position isn't really as important as the others, but BF has always seemed the place to find funny videos in general, and other cool tidbits, it would be nice to 'feature' that on the front page, at least once a week.

Interested?

If you're interested in one of these positions, than you need to submit a story to Neo. When submitting, treat the story as something that will appear on the front page. Spellcheck it, proofread it, and provide pictures for it (where appropriate). After some deliberation, we'll decide who's the best, and then you can officially join the staff as an Elite Probe. Please note, if you'd like to write the story in Word and submit the doc, that's fine too.

Last week's poll was handled somewhat poorly, after all it wasn't very clear. Though the community at large still doesn't know what Blizzard has specifically planned for Starcraft II's Battle.net Marketplace, so many of us are just guessing. The poll results sort of reflect that, many of you seem to be discouraged over customs costing money.

Time for a new poll, and this time we're going to venture away from Starcraft for awhile to focus on World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Recently Blizzard announced that two new races will be added to each faction; Goblins for the Horde, and Worgen for the Alliance. So, BlizzForums, which race would you choose to play?

Well the most recent poll ended and it looks like the answers weren't as obvious the other poll asking you guys which game you wanted first. Most of you agreed that we would see SC:G as bonus or premium content. On the other hand it also seems like quite a few of you think Blizzard is just teasing us. And there's still the console holdouts, desperately clinging to the hope that they'll see:
